In Vienna, a mild and mostly sunny Sunday is drawing to a close. Early evening temperatures are still around 17 °C and will fall to about 11 °C by midnight; no rain is expected before then.

Overnight into Monday it cools to 8–9 °C. The sky stays clear to partly cloudy and it remains dry.

Monday starts at 8–9 °C in Vienna and reaches only 14–15 °C in the afternoon. It stays dry all day, with sunny spells and passing cloud; the north-westerly wind is most noticeable in the morning.

Tuesday stays dry and often sunny at 16–17 °C, though southeasterly gusts reach 46 km/h. Wednesday then brings rain – around 18 mm – and gusts up to 53 km/h, before Thursday turns cooler with a few showers and continued strong gusts at around 16 °C. Friday looks likely to be drier again.

Past weather data show a mild and largely dry spell in Vienna since 13 October, with daily maxima mostly between 16 and 19 °C. Monday continues the dry theme, but the maximum drops by about four degrees. Wednesday is set to bring the first clear change, with rain and strong wind; whether a longer dry spell follows is still uncertain.

On Monday the wind blows from north-west to north at 10–12 km/h, with gusts up to 27 km/h, especially in the morning. On open roads and bridges the headwind will be noticeable.
