Weather data and sources

Forecasts, hourly data and available model comparisons for Vienna are supplied through Open-Meteo. Licence: CC BY 4.0. The source actually used and its timestamp are shown alongside the relevant display. Current model values are not local weather-station observations.

Air quality and available pollen forecasts are based on Open-Meteo Air Quality API / CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service). Sun and moon times are calculated astronomically. Automatic weather reports summarise the available data by machine and are labelled accordingly.

The official GeoSphere Austria warnings included here refer to Vienna’s Innere Stadt (1st district). They do not cover all Vienna districts. Data source: GeoSphere Austria, licence CC BY 4.0. For other districts and the rest of Austria, check the official warning map, affected area, validity period and recommended actions. Missing or expired data is not an all-clear.

The rain map displays calculated precipitation forecasts from the German Weather Service’s (DWD) ICON-EU model. The colours represent model values rather than observed radar echoes.

Buildings and terrain are based on the open city model (LoD 2.1) and terrain data from the City of Vienna. Datenquelle: Stadt Wien - data.wien.gv.at. Licence: CC BY 4.0. The data has been clipped and simplified for this view.
