Weather in Vienna

Tuesday opens at 7 °C, then sunshine breaks through quickly and adds up to 7.4 hours across the day. The afternoon reaches 17 °C before thicker cloud drifts in later. No rain is expected at any point.

Monday was Vienna's coolest day in a week at around 15 °C, with an almost unbroken sky. By early evening the city had slipped to 13 °C on a light northerly breeze.

The night stays largely clear and cools to 7 °C. Towards morning the wind swings to the south-east and picks up.

Wednesday turns much warmer again at 21 °C before rain spreads in late in the day, with the first computed window opening at 16:00 and around 8 mm in total. Thursday is the awkward one: 13 °C, 14.8 mm of rain and gusts to 62 km/h. Long sunny spells and 17 °C return on Friday.

The model record shows no measurable rain in Vienna since 15 October, the last small amount being 0.2 mm on the 14th. That dry run is likely to end on Wednesday evening. The jump from 15 °C on Monday to 21 °C on Wednesday is brief, with Thursday dropping back by eight degrees. A heat spell is nowhere in sight – Wednesday's 21 °C is the warmest day of the coming week.

The wind swings to the south-east overnight and strengthens through Tuesday: 15 to 20 km/h for much of the day, with gusts of up to 40.7 km/h around midday and in the afternoon. On exposed routes and bridges that is noticeable on a bike; the wind eases towards evening.
