The afternoon in Vienna stays dry with plenty of bright spells, and the temperature peaks at around 19 °C near 15:00.

The wind blows from the north to north-east with gusts of about 28 km/h. By evening it cools to 16 °C, and no rain is expected over the next 24 hours.

The night stays mostly clear and dry. In the second half of the night the temperature drops to around 9 °C.

Monday starts at around 9 °C, noticeably cooler than today, and even at noon it only reaches 13 °C.

The day tops out at 15 °C with a fresh north-westerly wind and gusts to 26 km/h. Rain stays away.

On Tuesday the wind picks up markedly with gusts near 50 km/h, while the temperature climbs back to 17 °C.

Wednesday brings the warmest air of the week at up to 22 °C, but also the first proper rain in days, with around 8 mm expected.

Thursday continues at 16 °C with a few showers, and Friday turns drier again at 14 °C.

The retrospective data for Vienna shows a dry week: after 0.9 mm on 10 October only a few tenths of a millimetre followed, and most days stayed completely dry.

Today's 19 °C continues the mild October pattern of recent days, which ends on Monday with a drop of about four degrees. The first substantial rain in days is due on Wednesday – a trend rather than a promise.

The wind comes from the north to north-east today at 10 to 12 km/h, gusting to 28 km/h, strongest in the afternoon. On Monday it turns north-westerly with gusts to 26 km/h. From Tuesday it strengthens markedly, with gusts around 50 km/h and close to 60 km/h on Wednesday, which is clearly noticeable on exposed stretches and bridges when cycling.
