Foehn is a wind on the lee side of a mountain range. Descending air can warm while its relative humidity decreases.
Descending air
Its effects depend on the airflow, moisture and terrain. Foehn can bring clearer skies and good visibility, but also cloud and strong gusts. Conditions in valleys, on summits and in the foreland can differ considerably.
