After a grey, wet weekend, Hanover is back in the sunshine on Monday: around 8.5 hours will add up, more than across the whole weekend (6.2 hours).

It stays cool, though. Temperatures sit at 9 °C in the morning, peak at 11.6 °C in the early afternoon and fall to 8 °C by 19:00. The sun keeps breaking through between spells of dense cloud, and by evening the sky is almost clear. No rain falls before midnight.

Under clear skies it cools quickly: temperatures drop to around 6 °C by midnight and to about 4 °C before dawn. The easterly wind eases to a light to moderate breeze.

Tuesday stays dry until late evening but mostly cloudy, with little more than two hours of sunshine. At 9.3 °C it is cooler still, and the morning starts at 2.8 °C, feeling close to freezing.

Light rain only arrives around 23:30 and carries on into the night to Wednesday.

Wednesday brings the wet contrast, with around 8 mm of rain and highs of 14 °C. Thursday turns dry again but noticeably windy, with gusts near 43 km/h. From the weekend, especially on Sunday, rain and wind pick up markedly, though those amounts remain an uncertain trend.

The past seven days averaged 12.7 °C in Hanover, 2.5 degrees above the October mean of 10.2 °C, with only 6.8 mm of rain against the usual 12.8 mm. The month so far sits at 13.6 °C, well above the normal, which on its own is no evidence of a trend. The next seven days point to 9.6 °C and 37 mm of rain, so cooler and much wetter. The sunny Monday is the exception this week.

The easterly wind blows at 10 to 15 km/h, with gusts up to 33 km/h. It is strongest during the morning and around midday; that is noticeable on open cycle paths and field tracks, but no special care is needed.
