Hannover has seen the back of the morning's rain, but the cloud stays firmly in place. Temperatures peak at around 13 °C this afternoon and ease back to about 12 °C by evening. Sunshine is not on the cards today – the total stays at zero hours. No further rain windows are forecast until Monday midday.

Overnight stays overcast and only eases down to 9–10 °C, so the gap between day and night is small. The east to north-easterly wind picks up, gusting to 32 km/h.

Monday morning stays grey, with the first breaks in the cloud arriving around midday. From 9 °C early on, the temperature climbs to about 11 °C by 12:00, and no rain is forecast. The afternoon then brings several hours of sunshine, with 7.4 hours expected across the day.

Tuesday drops to just 8 °C with little sunshine, before Wednesday brings the heaviest rain of the coming days at around 10 mm. The weekend turns windy, with gusts of around 60 km/h possible on Saturday. After that it stays changeable at 11–13 °C.

October has been distinctly mild in Hannover so far: the 17 completed days average 13.8 °C, which is 3.6 degrees above the DWD normal of 10.2 °C, and every single day came in above it. The past seven days ran 2.4 degrees warm and brought 7.4 mm of rain, barely half the usual amount. That is now reversing: the coming seven days average 9.4 °C, slightly below normal, with 14.6 mm of rain slightly above it.

The wind blows from east to north-east and is light for now, with gusts of barely 9 km/h. It strengthens to 15–17 km/h this afternoon and evening, with gusts of up to 35 km/h between 15:00 and 21:00. That is noticeable on a bike and on exposed routes around the edge of the city.
